Would've given it a weak five, but Rick Riordan still doesn't know the difference between a stepfather and a kidnapper. ( ) I really did enjoy this read. But it was def not my favorite read of this series. I really did like how the characters dealt with the drama in the previous book. I loved being back at the new setting in this book and the older characters that we met up with. I felt that the pacing in this book was not as tight and hard to feel invested to keep reading. I still love apollo character and really loved his character growth. I felt the pacing was just not as strong and wanted it from this book. I am really excited to read the possible last book in this series late next year. I really did enjoy this read. But it was def not my favorite read of this series. TW/CW: Death, injury, fantasy violence, scary sequences RATING: 4/5 REVIEW: The Tyrant’s Tomb is the fourth book in Rick Riordan’s Trials of Apollo series. It follows Apollo and the demigods as they attempt to protect Camp Jupiter from an impending attack from their enemies. I finally read this book! While I’m still bitter about some spoilers at the end of Book 3, I actually was able to get back into this book this time and enjoy it. It’s definitely got some sad parts, and some tense parts, but there are also a good number of funny parts and exciting parts, even for adults. As the pentultimate book in this series, I think that it sets the last book up perfectly, and I look forward to reading that as well. I recommend this book to fans of Rick Riordan and of YA Fantasy (Yes, I would call this series YA instead of Middle-Grade). geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

It's not easy being Apollo, especially when you've been turned into a human and banished from Olympus. On his path to restoring five ancient oracles and reclaiming his godly powers, Apollo (aka Lester Papadopoulos) has faced both triumphs and tragedies. Now his journey takes him to Camp Jupiter in the San Francisco Bay Area, where the Roman demigods are preparing for a desperate last stand against the evil Triumvirate of Roman emperors. Hazel, Reyna, Frank, Tyson, Ella, and many other old friends will need Apollo's aid to survive the onslaught. Unfortunately, the answer to their salvation lies in the forgotten tomb of a Roman ruler . . . someone even worse than the emperors Apollo has already faced.
