This was a good story but it took a little for me to get into it. Not sure why exactly but once I got into it it held my interest. Good romance, lots of action, a little mystery. All in all a good read.

I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. ( )

Trust is the first book in The Bailey Boys trilogy where we meet Jess Taylor, a girl that lost her way after her parents were killed in an accident eighteen months ago. Feeling ashamed that her elderly grandad had to bail her out of jail when she hit rock bottom. As she sucked up her courage, and she visited her grandparents only to learn that her grandmother still waited for her one time fiance to visit her. With her grandad's blessing she went to the old neighborhood to see if she could find him, unknowing that she was smack dad in the middle of a territory war with the Bailey boys and the Russians! ( )

Dean is a gangster and Jess is a recovering addict who meet when Jess decides to find her grandmother's old flame. Jess gets involved in mob business that could leave her dead.

I enjoyed these characters and the story. Jess has to change her method of dealing with things. She starts to learn to think things through before running away. Dean starts to learn to trust, at least with Jess. His trust is not always where it should be. The two of them together have huge trust issues. The secondary characters are an interesting mix of who should we trust and who are the bad guys.

I liked how the story is written. The short sentences give intensity to the story as Jess (and the reader) piece it together. There is the edge of the seat reading as Dean's plan is put into play. The uncertainty that happens at different points of the story as to who to trust works well with the shorter sentences.

I could not put this one down. What a ride! ( )
