This is a graphic novel that reworks some well known fairytales. There are five tales in all, Cinderella, Snow White, Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. I really enjoyed some, but others were just okay.

In Ninjarella, Cinderella wants to become a body guard for the prince. She still has the stepmother and stepsisters as well as a ninja godmother, but that is where the similarities end. This story will be a hit with those who really want young girls to be true to themselves and give up on the prince will save you story. Snow White and the seven robots shares the same message. What child does not love zombies these days. They will enjoy the twist on Hansel and Gretel and the zombies where the children do not want candy, they want brains. The 3 Billy goats get caught in a video game and have to defeat the monster at the end and Red Riding Hood gets super powers from her cape that she acquires in Area 54 while touring with President Grandma.

At the beginning of each story they introduced the characters and at the end they included a list of the major plot points that were changed from the original story as well as a little history of the original. This book is geared to children and I can guarantee they will be entertained, especially if they already are familiar with the classics. We all know kids these days get bored very quickly so it's always nice to offer them a new and exciting thing which is also short and entertaining. The stories are written by various authors and illustrated by different artists. They are colourful, detailed and will definitely attract the attention. A great book to add to school, home and classroom libraries for children ages 7 to 12.

These were alright. The tales are definitely meant for someone of the younger audience. They were fun though and had me smiling and smirking a few times. The artwork was well done. If I was in the right age group for this I think I would have enjoyed it better though. 3.5 out of 5 stars. ( )
