Steven Universe is the youngest member of a group of space superheroes known as the Crystal Gems, and is being raised by the other three while learning to use his powers. The series has a lovely Tezuka-inspired aesthetic and portrays a positive example of a non-traditional family situation as well as showing body type diversity among the characters. So far it hasn't grabbed me in quite the way the former show the creator worked on, Adventure Time, has -- but Adventure Time has had six seasons to develop its mythology, so Steven Universe could easily move up to five stars if it lives up to its potential.
