Beautiful story about sisterly bonds, family, love in all its complicated glory and heartache. I enjoyed getting to know Rose, Phoebe and Eliza and what Angus meant to each of them and the relationship that the triplets had with their parents through Paige Toon’s lovely story telling. This is the second book I’ve read of Paige Toon and she has fast become a favourite author of mine, the vivid imagery in her writing is so authentic and allows me to easily picture being right there with her characters and getting to know them quite intimately. Having been to Chamonix and hiking through the mountains there myself, I was transported back to my own fond memories of such a breathtaking place which mirrored Paige Toon’s descriptions. I also couldn’t help but laugh and compare my own frustrations growing up with my siblings as I read about the triplets sibling rivalry and the ups and downs of their relationships. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it almost cover-to-cover (hard to do with a young family) and now I’m off to decide which Paige Toon story to immerse myself in next. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Phoebe is caught between a rock and a hard place. Settle down and get married, or return to the French Alps to pursue her passion? Eliza is in love with someone who is no longer hers. In fact, he probably never was. And her dream of becoming a successful musician seems to be vanishing before her eyes. Rose is out of a job and out of a boyfriend. To make matters worse, she's been forced to move back in with her mother. But these very different girls have one thing in common. Angus. The one they fell in love with. I don't usually bother entering ebooks I don't finish, but I wanted to write a review to warn others off. I kept trying to figure out what was going on for half the book, before finally realizing that the author isn't playing fair. ( )
