After getting Orphan Train Escape by Rachel Wesson as a free read from Amazon and enjoying it (see my review), it occurred to me when I was looking at our bookshelves that I had read a similar title in the past. True to form, I found this 3 story hardback in my bookshelf and quickly was taken back to the orphan train stories which I loved. Jane Peart did a great job with this series and also did a set for the younger reader which I thought was a great idea. Above all, I counted it to God's grace that some pretty mean backgrounds turned into great people given the chance of a loving home and an introduction to a loving God. These are well written and enjoyable stories on their own or as a set. It also gives you a great historical backdrop to look into. ( ) Three consecutive short novels in one binding tracing the history of three eight year old girls who were become friends when they are sent west on the Orphan Train. They land in the same area, and the subsequent stories trace their journey through growing up in three different families, through adulthood. A glimpse into the life of orphans in the Victorian era in the United States, and the progress of our country and world into the twentieth century. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
