( ) Just Another Girl By: Elizabeth Eulberg Literary Merit: Very Good Characterization: Excellent Recommended: Yes Reading Level: YA Hope has a long time crush on her best friend Brady. But Brady's girlfriend, Parker is standing in her way. Hope feels that if she can just get Brady to see that they were meant to be together then Parker would be out of the picture. Hope thinks Parker has everything, looks, popularity, and Brady. Not everything is roses for Parker and Brady knows it. I think that this book will teach others you really shouldn't judge people by their outside appearance. Because you truly have no idea what they are going through on the inside. And that not all things are as they seem or what you try to make them out to be. FROM AMAZON: Hope knows there's only one thing coming between her and her longtime crush: his girlfriend, Parker. She has to sit on the sidelines and watch as the perfect girl gets the perfect boy . . . because that's how the universe works, even though it's so completely wrong. Parker doesn't feel perfect. She knows if everyone knew the truth about her, they'd never be able to get past it. So she keeps quiet. She focuses on making it through the day with her secret safe . . . even as this becomes harder and harder to do. And Hope isn't making it any easier. FROM PUBLISHER: Sixteen-year-old Hope has known Brady most of her life, and they are close friends and members of the Rube Goldberg Club at high school, but Hope has always believed that they be more than friends, so when Parker becomes his girlfriend, Hope views her a rival--but Parker has secrets, and when circumstances force the two girls together Hope realizes that Parker is just another girl. I absolutely love Elizabeth Eulberg's books and I was excited to see a new book come across my desk, however, I don't even know what to think about this story. Hope is hopelessly in love with her best friend Brady who is in love with a mean girl named Parker. Normally, EE would take this opportunity to make this story a hilarious rom-com filled with witty banter and dialect but this time she takes a slightly different direction and it really didn't come together for me. I truly appreciate what the author tried to do with this book. There are, after all, two sides to every story. Unfortunately, this book missed the mark. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
