WARNING! The following true crime book may shock and frighten the faint hearted. In the pages of this book are assembled twelve of the strangest true crime stories in human history. There is no doubt that some of these cases will disturb you, but it is equally assured that you will not be able to put this book down! Follow along in various criminal investigations as astute investigators race to solve cold murder cases. Some of the cases in this true crime anthology will boggle your mind as much as the police were when they investigated them. You will read about the abduction of girls from safe neighborhoods during broad daylight and how the dogged detectives eventually caught their killers through a combination of advances in science, some lucky breaks, and excellent police work. There are also some true crime murder cases profiled where killers have yet to be brought to justice and unfortunately, probably never will be. You may have already heard about some of these cases, while it will be the first time you read about others, but make no mistake, you will keep turning the pages for more. So open the pages and read about bizarre abductions, true murder cases, and other strange crimes that have intrigued people around the world. Once you do, you will want to read more.… (meer)

Upon receiving the audio version of this book through LibraryThing's member giveaway, I was pleased that this volume meets the same level of solid narration and easy listening. As with the previous three volumes there is an interesting introduction which gives the listener or reader a framework to understand the social situation of the victim and the historical context. This volume includes the Chandra Levy and Amanda Knox cases, and when each was introduced I honestly thought I was fed up with hearing about them. I ended up impressed that new-to-me information was given and there was an impartial and succinct summary of necessary information. This leads me to believe other cases I have had no prior knowledge of are equally presented with objectiveness. I look forward to future works of Mr. Rosewood. ( )

Jack Rosewood has delivered another series of truly bizarre and heinous true crime stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat. These particular 12 terrifying stories are from around the world and include the Murder of Meredith Kercher – think Amanda Knox, and The Disappearance and Murder of Chandra Levy. Some of the crimes that are told in this volume take many twist and turns before they are ultimately solved and some of these crimes remain unsolved even today. With the changes in technology, hopefully even these cold cases will see resolution in the future.
I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. ( )

In this, his fourth outing, author Jack Rosewood has once again given his readers a collection of a dozen murderers, murderers who for a better word have hiding under the watchful eyes of the media simply because they weren’t sensational enough to have been worth the time to covered totally, as has been the case when he deals with serial murders.

The individuals the author has included in this edition of True Crime Stories are just as heinous as those he’s devoted an entire book for. While not all the murders have a resolution to the crime as of yet, the stories here will perplex the minds of its readers, as it has with the detectives and investigators involved with each of the cases here. It show how the steadfast efforts of these individuals using a combination of the advances in science, some lucky breaks, and excellent police work have brought many of these murderers into the justice system, while others have been able to keep under the radar of various law enforcement agencies, which doesn’t mean they’ll never be caught, it just means their capture might take a bit longer.

If you’re into reading books about true crime murders, then this would be a welcomed addition to your library. Mr. Rosewood has once again shown his prowess in writing a book for this genre which is why I’m giving him 5 STARS for his endeavor here. ( )
