I believe it's about the revolt caused by the arrival on a planet of explorers who are eager to mess with Star Trek's prime directive in order to free the slaves. ( ) The World Menders is loosely linked to one of my old favourite SF novels, The Still Small Voice of Trumpets. Unfortunately, I was not as impressed with this book, or even with any others I’ve tried by the same author. The similar theme in the two books mentioned is that of a cultural survey team being called in to a planetary frontier to help solve an apparently culturally anomalous first contact situation. The World Menders takes what is trite from The Still Small Voice and reproduces it, while leaving out the intriguing originality I had hoped to find. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Branoff IV is a planet famous for its aristocratic culture and mistreatment of its indigenous population. When Cedd Farrari and a team of Cultural Survey experts are sent to Branoff IV to help bring about a shift to democratic government, the world seems an ideal candidate for political change. But all is not as it seems...A thrilling science fiction novel from the author of All the Colors of Darkness! Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
