All-New Wolverine (2015-) #7 - Tom Taylor, Marcio Takara, Bengal
Best team-up ever. A squirrel family is upset: Laura has inadvertently managed to get in a car chase that has taken down a tree, destroyed their home and left the father of their family lost.
Laura learns to take Squirrel Girl seriously, because the way she asks for help is ridiculous, and it seems that the request itself is equally as ridiculous. But in the end, it boils down to being put in a box, kept as a pet or to be experimented on, and Laura finds she can't stomach that, whether or not it's a human or animal being kept in a cage.
Add to that it's framed by Laura learning to trust, and Logan leaving her to a normal life and how it's effected her. When she finds herself in the same position with Gabby, she ultimately has to decide: give Gabby a normal life, or allow her to stay in Laura's life, with someone she already trusts.
It tells two stories, does it well, and manages to tell two complete stories, both equally as compelling. I found myself more moved by this one issue than all the others that came before, although they all led up to this. Bravo, Taylor!
I'll be looking for issue eight when it comes out on MU!
