Seriosuly, I did not expect this when I started reading this manga. I bought a JBC edition that's being newly released in my country and I was captivated by the story in the very first volume, which is about Punpun's childhood.

I really love stories that are just about regular life, the meaning we find in it and how we can find real personal conflict in mundane situations. It shows how the human condition is really interesting. Which is why I think this story was perfect for me. I loved the personality that the author puts in the situations and how he's not afraid to get really heavy out of nowhere. I think he does a perfect job in creating a real personality for each character, and a relatable conflict for every single one.

In the end, I think that this story is about expectations. Be it towards people, situations, ideals, ourselves. And how we can deal with it being destroyed over and over again. How some people don't get to see any of their dreams come true. How we sometimes need to come to terms with how things turned out and try to find joy in our current state.How we can look back at our younger selves and learn from our expectations then, and how, in the end, we'll always keep doing this, because that's what humans do.

I just finished it and I'm kinda sad. I get really attached to characters and their stories when I find one I really like. I'll definetly be reading more frm Inio Asano's work.

I definetly recommend this manga to anyone that's searching a true story with some real messages. Just amazing and beautifully done. ( )
