Tghis book has a lot of imformation about different spectroscopic topics. However, a moderate understanding of quantum mechanics, group theory, and spectroscopy is required or the book will be useless to you. ( ) Another book I read as an overview. This was very definitely a chemistry text, not a physics text, and I read it skimming over many details. The point, more than anything else, was to get a feel for the scope of spectroscopy and to learn some of the buzzwords and ideas of how spectra are interpreted, and I achieved some of that. However I fear the reality is that this is such a vast subject that, beyond getting a real grasp of the underlying physics, I'm never really going to understand it. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
The latest edition of this highly acclaimed title introduces the reader to a wide range of spectroscopies, and includes both the background theory and applications to structure determination and chemical analysis. It covers rotational, vibrational, electronic, photoelectron and Auger spectroscopy, as well as EXAFs and the theory of lasers and laser spectroscopy. * A revised and updated edition of a successful, clearly written book * Includes the latest developments in modern laser techniques, such as cavity ring-down spectroscopy and femtosecond lasers * Provides numerous worked examples, calculations and questions at the end of chapters Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
