Me and John Boy are great characters with depth and interest. The story line was sweet and complex at the same time I loved it. The sub story line about cancer was so relevant to the times and very touching. All I need to know is where I can get my very own John Boy! ( )

John "John Boy" Walden...hot, hot, hot and he knows it. The campus stud. But when he met Melanie, he knew something was different about her. And he liked it. Melanie just didn't know if she was ready for "John Boy". And when life throws her a curve ball, will he stick around long enough to prove her wrong...

I almost loved this book but ended up just liking it. Too many contradictions. John wants Melanie to see he was more than a playboy, wanted he to see him for him but yet he was giving her all his pickup lines. As the book progressed, his side improved and I did fall for him however Melanie, not so much.

With Melanie, it was the opposite. As the book progressed, I liked her less. She had some major worries in this book but I felt like it read weird. Maybe overly dramatic (for lack of better words.) It held me back a little from fully rooting for her. Her reaction to "the call" (no spoilers for you!) seemed very odd.

The storyline itself, while predictable was still good. I'm glad I read it, it was almost a big hit for me. I definitely look forward to reading more from this author.
