The Codex Blair Series Omnibus One: Grave Mistake - Blood Hunt - Dark Descent: An Urban Fantasy Collection (Codex Blair Collections Book 1) by Izzy Shows is a good deal.
1.) Grave Mistake by Izzy Shows is a fantastic urban fantasy with magic, demons, wizards, and a newbie mage. Lots of action, humor, great fantasy, sorcerer-type powers, talking ravens, (yep, talking ravens, it will make sense when you read the book), women in armor, and lots of kick butt fighting. It is my kind of fantasy novel! I enjoyed it completely! I am ready for book 2. The author was generous enough to let me read this, thanks so much. The least I can do is tell the world what I think of it. IT IS F*#KING AWESOME. There, got that out of my system. I love the well developed characters, very unique and wonderful. I really want to see how the relationship develops between Mel and Blair. Adding Fred was an act of brilliance. I just love all the characters! The plot was well planned and delivered like a rich piece of tiramisu while being on a diet, it arriving just when was I needing it and wanting it the most. It is refreshing to find a new kind of fantasy that makes me excited. Thanks again.
2.) Blood Hunt (Codex Blair Book 2) by Izzy Shows is another great action fantasy by Ms Shows. This time our gal is battling vamps. Using all the magic in her power, with the help of a reluctant vamp, and a mortal detective, they battle a rogue group of vamps that are killing mortals in the city. Lots of kick ass action, mysteries, touch of romance (or is it lust? umm), and many secrets hinting around the corner just ready to be exposed. This book keeps the reader glued to the book and won't let them go. Exciting and full of a fresh look at vamps and the supernatural. The ending...opening a whole new chapter to her life, wow. Can't wait.
3.) Dark Descent (Codex Blair Book 3) by Izzy Shows is the third book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. In this book, our gal who is a monster hunter, is after a succubus. This is not so easy as it sounds. It takes a demon, another incubus, her friend, and Fred her imp to figure out how to stop this beast. It is full of action and craziness. Great plot, characters, dialogue, and situations. I love this series! There is lots of magic, strong female character, action, mystery, and lots of fun. I was given this story to read and the review was voluntary. ( )
