In this gruesome true crime anthology you will read about twelve true crime stories that baffled investigators and continue to draw interest among the public due to their shocking details. From tragic cases of spousal murder to tragic cases of child murder, this true crime book will surely keep your attention. Three cases of spousal homicide are among the many murder stories in this volume that will keep you captivated. Read about how two wives, Larissa Schuster and Susan Wright, decided to kill their husbands for greed and about how a husband and father, John Sharpe, decided he did not want to be married anymore, so he killed his wife and daughter. For different reasons, these killers thought that they would get away with their crimes, but the ensuing criminal investigations revealed their evil plans for the world to see. This volume also features a number of child abduction cases that unfortunately ended in tragedy. Follow the course of these true murder cases and learn how the investigators worked tirelessly to put these monsters behind bars. You will also be introduced to cases that can only be described as strange or weird, such as the case of Donald Webb, who was a master of multiple identities and Vlado Taneski, a journalist who created his own scoops through murder. This may be a true crime book, but you are guaranteed to be at the edge of your seat and will probably think at times that you are actually reading a true crime novel.… (meer)

I was given this Audible audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

These anthologies are very well done...factual and to the point. I like that dialogue is included, details are given unemotionally (even though the details definitely make me have a range of emotional responses), and the books are relatively short in order for the listener to have time to decompress from such morbid stories.

I do not know how Jack Rosewood can continually research such horrendous murders and murderers...don't get me wrong, it's very interesting, but so disturbing. I have found after having listened to many of Rosewood's true crime audiobooks, that I have to listen to them during the day...listening/reading too close to bedtime equals crazy/scary dreams of murderers! EEK!

Very well done, Rosewood. ( )

As an Amazon Enthusiast for True Crime Books I can’t really resist reading and reviewing items with fall under the parameters of this genre, and one of the best authors I’ve found is Jack Rosewood.

In his 8th anthology of a dozen individuals who have committed truly vicious, horrendous acts of depravity that one individual could ever do, Mr. Rosewood has once again delivered in-depth studies of individuals who have captured the headlines for weeks, if not months, in newspapers across this country, as well as other parts of the world through their vicious acts of depravity resulting in the murders of helpless, unsuspecting victims. For each individual he decides to write about, Mr. Rosewood starts at beginning of their lives to see if there had been something in their childhood which could have led this individual into doing the acts they did as an adult. While the author has already written numerous books on the lives of single individuals who have been the worse of any serial killers known to the general; in this, his eight anthology of a dozen individuals, who although they never achieve national or worldwide fame for their acts and flew under the radar of the national press, were none the less just as horrific.

Once again, given Mr. Rosewood’s commitment in delivering captivating, page turning stories of true crimes, I’ve given this collection 5 STARS. ( )
