Not the worst I’ve read, but certainly not the best either. It reminded me of the Fear Street books by RL Stine. The characters were one dimensional and had no personality so it was difficult to tell them apart. The “killer’s” reason for doing what they were doing was dumb. And no one actually dies? There’s also a forced outing of a gay character that felt gross. Would not recommend. ( )

Well it's not ideal when by page 17, you are hoping some of the main characters will get murdered.

I think novellas from this author are useful to have in a high school library because of their length, and also because mystery thrillers are a high interest genre. There are enough twists and tension to keep an inexperienced Reader or reluctant Reader engaged, so definitely getting one for the library. For me, it felt really forced, way too angsty, and there was not nearly enough killing of annoying main characters. ( )

Different type of action/adventure/horror/mystery, all wrapped in one. Those who enjoy Escape Rooms will like this book. Easy to read, 4 POV; 2 girls/2 guys. Writer leaves you guessing until almost the end. Lots of red-herrings. The story reminded me of the Storyline of the movie Saw, without the gore. It's almost a bait and switch type of story. Elements of self-discovery, self-esteem issues, along with LGBTQ storyline. ( )

Well, I was entertained, and had to read to the end, that's your basic three-star book. Because I'm many years older than the target audience, I knew pretty much who was who and motives, most of the time, but I though the characterizations were well done. Also, there's no wasted scenes; this is a concise story. Fourth star earned. ( )

Good use of multiple perspectives to tell the story. Mainly a realistic teen thriller, but with a touch of prescience/pain sharing that . . . honestly wasn't really necessary for the plot. It's an enjoyable quick read, if you're looking for teen romance, mystery, betrayal, and friendship. And of course, there's the whole escape room thing, which . . . while I have done them in the past, I have to admit, they're really kind of creepy if you really think about it. ( )
