This book is great for lessons about light! It includes lots of kid-friendly information about what light is, waves of light, traveling light, how we see light, particles of light, and the power of light. I like this book because it connects to kids' background knowledge (asset-based) and isn’t super text-heavy. There are great pictures, extra fun facts, a glossary, and even a page that provides readers with a chance to experiment with what they’ve learned, where they are able to think like a scientist with materials that are accessible to anyone. It also provides readers with a takeaway where they are able to show what they’ve learned with their friends and family which could be modified as fun homework. (
