I loved hearing and knowing more of Ashwin and Gemi and their relationship. Also more about the history and background of Kali and Deven 🙂. I wish there was going to be more of this series and more stories about these characters. If you haven't checked out this series, you really should. ( ) My only issue with this is having to listen to it on Audible, the three different narrators pronounced names differently. This made it a little difficult to follow along with the story. Other than that the story was wonderful, I could envision the story while listening to it. I could see the fight scenes, the struggles Kali faced in the Void, Devon's struggles in the Void with trying to remember himself and Kali. The storyline did keep me guessing while they were in the Void, and there were some things I could anticipate would happen (but that didn't keep me from enjoying). I would recommend this series to others to read or listen to. If you've read the first three books in this series, there will be no stopping you from reading this one. For those who haven't read Emily R. King, may I recommend the Hundredth Queen series? I thought the first book started slow. I'm right about these things. It did start slow. The joy of enduring slow beginning books in a series is the author loads up a ton of details that they will weave together later, making that slow beginning well worth your attention and endurance. Fortunately, Emily is just plain good at writing. She gets things moving and heating up pretty quick way back in book one and hasn't let up yet. Once she has her hooks in you, in that first book, by this book you're having "series completion" anxiety mixed with "I can't wait to read it" stress. Being who I am, doing what I do, I'd normally tell you those are two things you don't want in your life. Anxiety & stress. Since it is about something you know will not seriously affect your "real life" it is actually a good thing… Stress and anxiety recreation! Who would have thought you could escape the nasty side effects of anxiety, stress, fight or flight adrenaline all day long by pretend anxiety, stress, fight or flight adrenaline all day through imaginary people! Yep, reality is far more bizarre than fiction... even when its fantasy! I'm not one to spoil novels if I can help it. I will tell you that you've reached the climax of this series. I for one, never want to do all the work to reach a climax then not finish what I'm doing. It was a good climax! Aren't they all? geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

"In the final volume of The Hundredth Queen Series, Kalinda will risk everything to save the man she loves. Kalinda has brought peace to the Tarachand Empire, at least for now. Bhutas no longer need to hide their gifts. The last of the rebels have been banished. And Prince Ashwin is set to take over as rajah. But for Kalinda, this all came at a great loss. Her childhood home. Her best friend. The love of her life. Deven is still trapped in the Void, although he is able to find his way to Kalinda each night. He has been lucky so far--mortals are not meant to last in the Void for long, and Deven has lasted longer than most. But when he doesn't visit her one night, Kalinda knows that his luck has run out. She will do whatever it takes to save the man she loves, even if it means convincing a god to guide her through the Void. Freeing a mortal from the Void is nearly impossible, but Kalinda has never let those odds stop her before..."--provided by publisher. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
