This is another book in Cari Silverwood's sort of alien invasion, sort of alien abduction series. The Preyfinders are on Earth to first find out if the humans can be starfarers in the future. Once that's been established, that means that soldiers can come hunt human women for pets, as a reward. There is also another alien group on Earth, the ones that the good guys are fighting against. Stom is a Feya. He has black and grey stripes and a red spiral on his arm. He is a hero, so the higher-ups decided that he could hunt for a pet. He is conflicted about it because Feya only ever take one bondmate, and his is dead, and a pet would violate his vow. Willow is his prospective prey and pet. She is due to die, which makes her the perfect target. When Stom sees her, he's drawn to her and knows that she is going to be trouble. He can't stay away from her and once she kisses him, she can't stay away from him. This is a great story. You really can't read it as a stand-alone because it is connected with the first book, and is a continuing storyline. There isn't technically a cliffhanger, but there is definitely an ending that needs the next book. I love Stom, at least most of the time. There are times when I want to take a cluex4 to the back of his head just so he figures stuff out sooner, but in general, he's a pretty good guy. Ally is conflicted about her past, but incredibly strong and loyal in her present. She wants nothing more than to be safe and make sure her family is safe. I love Cari Silverwood's heroines, because they are strong, even if they are submitting. Submission doesn't equal weakness. 4.5 stars This series just keeps getting better and better. I love that Cari does such a believable job in describing things that are not "earthly" which in turn enhances the story. I love that this series introduces characters from the other stories as well. Loved Willow and Stom. Looking forward to reading about Talia and Brask. I would also like more on Ally. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
