With no landscaping work Verity is looking for a winter revenue stream that doesn't involve shoveling snow. Emy talks her into taking on a harmless mystery about a found wallet. Naturally, dead bodies follow since Verity can't help but find them. LOL!! There are several mysteries in this book including a crossword puzzle contest. Wonderful addition to the series. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. cozy-mystery, friendship, murder, Canada The first big snow is on its way and all the locals are getting squirrelly. Someone has devised a devilish blank crossword puzzle and the clues are to be found in wallets sort of hidden around town with those finding same to post each one on the library bulletin board. The monetary prize is flabbergasting, some of the wallets contain suspicious articles, and most of the townsfolk believe that it's legit. But not Verity. Follow her as the bodies appear and the truth comes out! Excellent! I requested and received a free ebook copy. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Verity Hawkes lives in a village in Canada, has an inherited small landscaping business, a fiance who is a police detective, an interesting aunt who may or may not still work for a corporate espionage agency, and a burgeoning talent for sleuthing. She also has a friend whose goat is accused of murdering the owner of the local septic removal driver by butting him into an empty septic tank (which would have been amazing considering the narrow opening). The plot keeps getting more convoluted and funnier at the same time! I loved it! I think it could stand alone, but it would make me want to read any I'd missed just for the fun of it!
