There's no denying it, I'm a hidden object fan. Even more so, when my children join me and enjoy the book as much as I do.

Animosaics: Can you find it? is the second book in the author's Animosaics' series and like Animosaics: Can you find me? both books are quite unique, because the pictures here aren't the big city scenes or the playground in the park, where you look for the girl in the red dress or the boy on the blue bike.

Instead, as the title suggests, the beautiful artwork is mosaic-inspired. Imagine confetti in different shapes and shades of one colour thrown onto the page and you'll get there.
That makes it more challenging for the children to find the objects, but the book is very well executed and it's addictive and a lot of fun.

Each time you turn a page, there's a different colour and the hidden items are listed on the right together with an image showing them, which helps the kids to identify them and it also encourages to learn and memorize the spelling of the various words.

There are ten colours to explore: blue, red, yellow, purple, orange, green, pink, white, black and finally gold and there are six hidden items to search in each mosaic.

But there's more. One extra special object is hidden on each page, and this time the children look for different shapes. A blue triangle, a red square, a yellow diamond, etc.

The whole book is simply a very clever idea, because now we've got a picture book where we can teach the wee ones basic colours, basic shapes, the names/spelling of a nice variety of everyday objects like strawberry, aubergine or pumpkin and at the same time they learn to concentrate and stay focused.

The last item to look for and hopefully find is a cheerfully smiling golden star.
A perfect way to round up a very enjoyable hidden object book of high quality.
