Thanku: Poems of Gratitudedoor Miranda Paul (Redacteur)"Thanku: Poems of Gratitude," is a beautiful collection of poems written by diverse authors covering the theme of being thankful. This would be a good collection to bring out around thanksgiving. This can also be used throughout the school year to remind students of the things they have to be thankful for. These poems remind the reader to be thankful for even the smallest things in life. Thanku, edited by Miranda Paul, is an enchanting anthology of gratitude poetry accompanied by gorgeous artwork. There are many things we have to be thankful for, and these poems can teach young readers how to be thankful for even the simplest things in life. Each poem is a different style. At the bottom of each page it tells what type of poem it was. I was so tickled that pantoum was included! That's one of my favourite types to write. Highly recommended! ***Many thanks to Netgalley and Lerner Publishing for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. |

I loved this book so much. It was a poetry book featuring a variety of poetic forms and authors. It was a collection of poems about gratitude, which was heartwarming and fun. It was both specific and relatable for all students.
I liked how it modeled the different poetic forms and provided examples. The illustrations were amazing, and there was also a reference page in the back of the book that talks about the different poetic forms and literary devices. I think this would be a great resource for 4th-middle school students, and I WILL be using this in my classroom to teach poetry. ( )
