This is my favourite book of the series.
This book is Mace and Lylah.
We know some of the events that take place in the first 50% of the book as it covers several years, skipping now and again and during this time the other band members have sorted out their relationships in the previous books.
Lylah is Will's younger sister who is friends with the boys from the band, esp close with Mace.
All the boys have been manwhore types and I found some of the behaviour in the previous books distasteful, typical Rock Star lifestyle protrayal.
We knew Lylah in the background as she had popped up now and again. She is quite a bit younger and I think it's why this one worked better for me.
Mace's exploits are not detailed, which is where I think I found the previous books hard to read. He is with other women when Lylah is around but there are no intimate details.
Due to the age difference it's normal Mace would have been involved with women and felt Lylah was off limits as she's only 13 when the story starts.
At 50% we catch up to events that were touched on in the previous book regarding Mace and his downward spiral of drinking.
When he gets himself sorted he is amazing to Lylah.
Lylah has her own demons, who only a very small circle know about.

There are very touching emotional scenes, strong family bonds and JP writes group friend dynamic brilliantly and there is plenty of that too.

There is a bit of ex drama. No cheating.
HEA.
Also some new characters, Stone and Ian who covers security, so the possibility of a new series?? Maybe.

I had my doubts if this author would be able to meet my expectations of what I was looking for in Mace and Lylas story. Especially, after Killian's book. I need not have worried because sweet lord this author must have heard my challenge because she picked up the gauntlet and ran with it. This book touched on two pretty horrible things and brought much-needed attention to them. So often they are brushed under the rug and not given the exposure or attention they need. The author did a fantastic job writing them with clarity and grace. She didn't sugarcoat them which was much appreciated.

This book made me tear up in places and it made me smile like a Cheshire cat in others. To say that I have loved this series would be an understatement. In each book, this band and their significant others, become more and more like family and friends. To see this series ending makes me sad knowing that their stories are over.

Lyla. I loved this woman and her strength. There were times that I scoffed at her knowing she was in love from the age of ten and how it escalated into a having it her way moment by declaring that things needed to be her way. However, as the story progressed I truly feel like maybe she had it right and that Mace truly was her dual flame and her heart knew it. The heart doesn't care about age. Especially, as the soul knows its due North. In this case, Mace was her true North. Mace. Sweet lord. He gave Killian a run for his money. That man is as refreshing as an Ice-cream cone on a hot August night. The way he loves his Goldie...that is the stuff from movies. The steamy moments between them were FIRE. Never doubt that this author can write some steam. Definitely not fade to black moments here.

I highly recommend this book and series. I am looking forward to the sneak peek of what is to come. I also want to read more about Stone and Ava and DEFINITELY Lincoln Sheppard. Actually, I will take anything this author writes because her words are magic. ( )
