I spent the entire book waiting for somebody to turn into something...anything.
Humans, stupid humans with basket case emotional baggage that like to have sex.
If it weren't for the fact that it takes place in Edinburgh it wouldn't have gotten the extra star. Edinburgh happens to be one of my all time favorite places on this planet, so the book made me smile sometimes as a result. Otherwise the writing/editing was at times glaringly annoying (double negatives anyone?) and the characters were a little over the top whatever they were, sticky sweet / rude / "caveman"...if she said that one more time, "caveman", I was going to scream. The character acting like a "caveman" was the main love interest...not attractive, in my opinion. Totally didn't even care if they worked it out and ended up together.
So, why did I keep reading? Because, I thought somebody was going to vamp out, or bite somebody...something! I kept waiting for it. I thought it was a series, so she was just a little slow getting started. I looked at the other books in the "series" and they're all about totally different characters, always a woman with issues who meets a man. Blah! I don't love Edinburgh enough to carry on...sorry. (
