Anyone who reads and understands it, and still believes in Darwinian Evolution has to be a Space Cadet. Much of the text deals with complex organic chemicals that must be present at just the right times to make other complex organic chemicals do what they need to do to sustain life. This can be seen as a variant on the chicken and egg question. Eberlin discusses chicken eggs in this context too. The book may be too technical for some. I have science degrees and a reasonable background in theoretical chemistry but I probably understood only 80% of the chemistry Eberlin describes. (To be sure, Eberlin knows that some of the discussion might be too technical for some readers and he advises that some sections might be skipped until he summarizes at the end of a section or chapter.) The title of the book derives from the belief that foresight (i.e. "intelligent design") was necessary so if an egg is going to hold an embryo apart from its mother, it requires foresight to understand that the egg must be packed with food sufficient to sustain the embryo.) Learn about jumping insects with real gears, and the ingenious technology behind a power-punching shrimp. Enter the strange world of carnivorous plants. And check out a microscopic protein machine in a bird's eye that may work as a GPS device by harnessing quantum entanglement. Join renowned Brazilian scientist Marcos Eberlin as he uncovers a myriad of artful solutions to major engineering challenges in chemistry and biology, solutions that point beyond blind evolution to the workings of an attribute unique to minds-foresight.
