Rose does a superlative job of world building and character development. Nay, I should change that to universe building as that is what the author did. I was very quickly drawn into this universe that Rose built. Along with seeing friendships bloom as Kena adjusts to her new ship and mission. Throughout, the author gently shares a vitally important message without beating the reader over the head with it. There's plenty enough action to be had to satisfy the "space jockeys" among us along with enough blooming relationships between a human and an array of diverse beings to satisfy the culturalists among us. I truly enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it to anyone. I look forward to reading the rest of the volumes in this series. In the interest of transparency: I was given a free review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review. It is my own honest opinion. **** SPOILER ALERT **** "Agents of Rivelt: A Novel In Short Stories" harks back to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "A Study In Scarlet", but more cohesively. Rose delivers a well crafted, action packed story arc that also balances exposition. The author does a masterful job of world building and creates richly drawn characters as they introduce us to the universe of "Rivelt" where the slave trade in young thought readers is allowed to fester on Syndicate controlled space stations. We follow Tracy, a former slave herself, and Vigard, her bounty hunter partner as they participate in dangerous missions to free slaves. I highly recommend this thought provoking story. Q: Can Tracy make a major impact on the slave trade? Q: Can the team figure out who in the Riveltian government is part of the slave trade? Q: Can the Syndicate's be convinced to assist in abolishing the slave trade? Q: Will Tracy and Vigard finally realize their true feelings towards each other? A: Grab this book and find out Rose's answers to all those questions and more! In the interest of transparency: I was given a free review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review. It is my own honest opinion. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
"A Castle Awakened is the first novel in the Castle in the Wilde trilogy. If you like fantasy with mystery, intrigue, and romance, come and explore this secondary world with medieval undertones and the turmoil of clashing cultures." -- Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Rose continues their excellent, excellent world building and character development in "Diverse Demands: Diverse Book 2".
The author continues the story of Kena's adventures as she navigates the quagmire surrounding herself and her ship.
Rose weaves a tale of many kinds of love as they masterfully balance action and exposition while expanding on the message from "Diverse Similarity".
This entertaining and thought provoking page turner of a book was one that I only reluctantly, for necessities, put down until I finished it. I was hooked from page one.
I am really looking forward to seeing where Rose takes this series in the future volumes.
Q; Will Kena be able to bring the PitKreelaundan and the Interstellar Collaborative to the table to take the first steps to a lasting peace?
Q: Can Tarkeen prevent a civil war between the PitKree and the Laundan?
A: Grab this book and find out. While this book can be read as a standalone, I strongly, STRONGLY, recommend that you acquire and read "Diverse Similarity" first. I think it will make your enjoyment of "Diverse Demands" much richer.
