The actions demonstrated in this book help dictate the flow of the story and the theme, making the book an easy-follow for children in the K-1 grade level. A simple pattern book easily coursed through by examples, action, and direction, I believe Push and Pull is an appropriate practice book that can run with young student reading practice. Push and Pull by Lola M. Schaefer is a pattern book that could be used in grades K-1 to teach the idea of objects being pushed and pulled. I could see this book being very beneficial for ESL students as it has very repetitive terminology and concepts that could broaden students vocabulary and comfortability reading. It also has a key in the back of the book for more difficult words which could be used to have students infer about the meanings of the words and check at the end to see if they were correct. The book has large images that engage the reader as well as help them cue any unknown words. Many of the pictures also include children so the book become more relatable to them. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
