Len's a prisoner of irrational guilt and grief, brought about by a tragic family situation that is gradually revealed to readers. Sage is on top of the world, destined for a full ride volleyball scholarship until a fainting spell, following a victory lands her in totally unfamiliar territory and no longer able to play. With her dreams destroyed, she struggles to stay somewhere close to an even keel, but can't face telling her teammates. Something sparks a sense of understanding between the two girls, setting them on a very scary and painful journey through denial, fear, anger, and risky behavior. It's portrayed very realistically and you can't help but root for both of them to come to a place of healing and acceptance. This is one of those books that should be in any library where teen mental health is important. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
