This was a creative way to teach children about the tyrannosaurus rex. A grandpa and his grandson are traveling through a t.rex museum and the grandson keep asking questions. The dialogue is separated by different fonts which is explaining on the title/editors page inside the book. At first this was a little difficult to catch on to but after a second look at the fonts it was easy. The book lets the reader know some known facts about the t.rex but also explains some of the things that are unknown about them. It explains some of the things that have been discovered to suggest certain answers but "it was millions and millions of years ago" so it is hard to say. At the end of the book is an index of topics discusses about the t.rex. The illutrations are brightly colored and would appeal to children. There are some parts where it shows the dinosaurs with bloody meat in it's mouth which seemed a little graphic for a very young group. So, I would be sure to analyze the maturity of your students before reading the book to them. But, I would still recommend this for a science lesson or dinosaur unit.
