While Grace and Adare were the centre of this story, there is a lot more going on with other characters that build on the overarching storyline of the series. This book is action-packed, steamy, suspenseful and had a couple of plot twists that I didn't see coming! I will definitely be going back to read the earlier books in this series, and look forward to Benjamin's story next! ( ) Guardian’s Grace by Rebecca Zanetti Dark Protectors #12 In the continuation of the Dark Protectors saga we see Adare and Grace finally truly mated after five years apart. He did what he could to bring her out of a coma then let her roam free for a while. The whole realm is still in need of bringing Ulrich and the Kurjans down, but something happens in this book that tears the various parts of the united realm apart. I have to say that this book did not hold my interest quite as much as some of the previous stories and I am not sure why. I perhaps wanted there to be an explanation for Adare and Grace to have been apart rather than getting together earlier. I liked them together but didn’t feel the chemistry that some of the other couples seemed to have. I also think I am eager to see how this will all be tied up in the end and what will happen. I really like Hope and am eager to see how she, Libby, Pax and Drake will fare as the story continues on to the eventual conclusion. This is a book that is better read as a series or at least with some of the back story under your belt. I cam in late to the series on book 7 and have not read all the books between. I felt there were a lot of characters to sift through and keep track of and I wanted to know what would happen as I tried to remember where I had seen these characters before and in what context(s) and books. The fight scenes were splendid, the bad guys truly evil, the plot was furthered nicely, there was a bit of a surprise with Pax’s thread in the story, and the main H/h did get their HEA or at least a HFN as we still don’t know how the Key (Grace is a key) and the 7 (Adare is one of the 7) will fare by the end of the book. I believe I will continue with the series but I am eager to see how it will end…eventually. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Lyrical for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3-4 Stars Guardian’s Grace by Rebecca Zanetti Book 12 of the Dark Protectors series. Best read as part of the series. Paranormal vampire romance. Grace and Adair’s story. Grace and Adair became mates five years ago when Grace was in a comma. They have spent the years apart and with the mating mark fading, Grace thinks that taking the virus will give them both a fresh start. Adair doesn’t agree. His solution is for a proper mating to occur to reinforce their bond. Let the courting, biting, spanking and sex begin. Meanwhile, the enemy of the vampire race ramps up their kidnapping of enhanced women making Grace a target. Adair is at his best in Protector mode, but the Seven are under attach as well so his attention is split. Better watch out, the enemy is getting smarter. Protector instinct and alpha male tendencies make Adair quite domineering. At least he tries with Grace. She is stubborn and doesn’t succumb willingly to his demands. The two have a love hate relationship that grows to love as they fight the Kurjans and stop fighting the sexual pull between them. Non stop action and suspense, romance and sexy bedroom (and shower) scenes ensue. I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to share. I received and advanced readers copy from NetGallery in exchange for an honest review. I have been waiting forever for this book... and it was worth it. I love that it started as a time jump, because whatever is going to happen with Hope has to been when she is an adult. I live the Grace stood up to Adare throughout this book and the others in the series, but I did think she made a few stupid decisions, but overall she was a likable character. The ending when the realized the loved each other seemed a little abrupt, but it worked. I liked the sneaked peak about Benny towards the end as well. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
