Four sweet and funny Amish love stories, spanning four different generations. Love comes at all times and for all ages!

Young Loveā??When Fern was diagnosed with a chronic illness in her early twenties, she knew it would limit her abilities to be a good Amish wife. And with Dan, the object of her affection, in a serious relationship, there didn't seem much point in dating. But Dan is now single, and he seems to be taking notice of Fern. She'll need a strong dose of courage to talk down the fear her illness has brought on if she ever wants to pursue her dreams.

Long-Awaited Loveā??When Everett left ten years ago, Jemima's love quickly turned to hate. But when they arrive back home at the same bus station on the same day, they discover some old flames aren't put out so easily. Can they move past the forces that pulled them apart ten years ago, or are some hurts too much to overcome?

Second-Chance Loveā??Benjamin and Lora Beth both lost spouses not long into their young marriages and connect over letters, exchanging recipes and commiseration as their now-grown children try to coddle them. They're only in their forties, for heaven's sake! The letters quickly reveal a deep friendship . . . or could it be more? When you've already had a great love, how do you learn to fall in love again?

Never Too Lateā??Jerald is a committed old bachelor. He loves nothing more than good Amish food and giving his best friend's wife, Regina, a hard time. When people have askedā??and believe him, people have askedā??he's always said he'll marry when he finds the right woman. It's just never happened in his seventy years. Until he tastes the best blueberry pie and discovers the woman behind it: Regina's best… (meer)

Four different stories, four different generations, four different problems, but all end in romance. This collection has something for everyone, no matter what your age. Well written, with interesting characters and intriguing plots, these stories are entertaining as well as informative. As the characters work through their own problems, with Godā€™s help, readers will come to know more about the Amish community and their faith. ( )

Amish Generations is a compilation of four nice stories by Kathleen Fuller. Each of the stories focuses on two people of the Amish faith that come together . These are good clean stories that are easy to read. Each of the couples have obstacles they need to over come to move forward.

In Young Love, Fern has secretly had a crush on Dan for years and now that he is no longer committed to someone else, Fern needs to trust him enough to tell him about her hidden health condition.

In Long-Awaited Love, Jemima needs to assert herself with her family to allow them to have a life of her own. Everett needs to deal with the relationship with his father.

In Second-Chance Love, Lora Beth and Benjamin both have children that want them to move in with them, now that they are single again. They both need to make decisions based on their needs and not on what their children want.

In Never Too Late, Elva did not have the best first marriage. When her husband died, she planned to stay alone. But when she meets Jerald, she realizes not every man is like her first husband.

The thing that stands out the most to me is in Long-Awaited Love. I feel so much for Jemima who was always there to help her mother and was always discouraged by her parents to get a job and make her own life. They felt she had a pretty good life living with and helping them. Another is in Never Too Late, Elva has to learn to trust again and needs to be herself and experience happiness.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Zondervan through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. ( )

ā€œAmish Generationsā€ presents readers with four short stories that feature romance at different stages of life, from young adult to senior citizens. Each story addresses problems or issues specific to the time of life. These include reconnecting with oneā€™s past, moving on after living with family members, continuing with life after losing a spouse, and moving to a new community. The stories underscore the unique strengths brought to relationships during different stages of life.

Each story is short enough to be read in one sitting. The stories all feature happy endings. They are sweet and clean reads (no violence, intimacy, or strong language), with a Christian core. Readers who are looking for novellas that include realistic and likeable characters and situations will enjoy these tales about Amish people.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own. ( )

Amish Generations by Kathleen Fuller contains four sweet Amish romances that span four different generations. Young Love features Fern Gingerich who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis despite only being in her twenties. She would love to marry and have a family, but Fern feels that a man would not want her because of her illness. When the pain is bad, Fern is confined to bed. When Dan begins paying her attention, Fern wonders if love can conquer all. Long-Awaited Love has thirty-four-year-old Jemima Kurtz returning home to Middlefield, Ohio after being gone a year helping her younger sister and her family. She encounters Everett while waiting for her ride. It has been ten years since she has last seen him. Jemima has a mix of feelings of inside her. Can the past be overcome so they can have a future? In Second-Chance Love, Lora Beth and Benjamin have both lost their spouses. They meet at a wedding and begin corresponding with each other. Their children want them to move in with them and treat them like they are in their dotage. Ben and Lora Beth are only in their 40s, for Peteā€™s sake. Can friendship end up being their second chance at love? Never Too Late has Reginaā€™s friend, Elva visiting town and entering a baking contest with her blueberry pie. Jerald, a friend of Reginaā€™s husband, is one of the judges. Jerald is a lifelong bachelor who loves good food. When he tastes Elvaā€™s pie, it is love at first bite. Can two people find love in their twilight years? I enjoyed reading each of the four stories in Amish Generations. I thought the novellas were well-written with interesting characters and situations. Each main character has their good points and their foibles just like real people. I especially liked that the road to happily ever after was not smooth. It made the tales more realistic. Faith is important to each character. Christian values are included in each story without it becoming preachy. Forgiveness is one of the themes. You are forgiving someone else, but it is really for yourself. It is amazing how the act of forgiving someone will fill you with peace. I like that Young Love featured a woman in her twenties with a debilitating disease. We get to see how someone can look normal on the outside but riddled with pain on the inside. My favorite lines from Amish Generations is, ā€œYou can do anything you want to do if itā€™s Godā€™s will.ā€ Amish Generations contains four heartwarming stories that shows that it is never too late for love to find you. I really enjoyed reading these four Amish stories of romance. What I really enjoyed was that each of the four stories was of finding love in a different age group. Some of the characters were young and others were of the older generations. This was very enjoyable. I needed to learn about each character and how they fell in love. I received a copy of this book from Zondervan through Netgalley for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )
