I think that Leann Ryans has a such a fresh look on the Omegaverse in this series, which makes me really like it. It's not dark, and there really isn't any kind of non/dubcon. It's just good, which yay, I like. In this one, we have Penny, who needs a bodyguard to protect her from her scummy ex-boyfriend when the police can't help her. So, she goes to The Haven and hires Ethan for a month. He's the head of security, so he knows what he's doing, and he's going to keep her safe. They both are excited about this. Her because she's going to be safe. Him because there's something about her that he's attracted to. It really is great. Except for the jerky ex who just isn't getting a clue. I love the take on Alphas that Leann Ryans does. It's not what you usually see in an O-verse book. I feel sorry for the poor guys. They are really just oppressed badly. I like/hate how realistic this is when it comes to how Penny is treated by the authorities when it comes to her stalker. Makes me mad in real life, makes for good reading. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Sexy, passionate and as with the first book, a bit of a thriller too. There is a nod to the first book although it wouldn't spoil a reader's enjoyment if they hadn't read 'Hired to Heat'. Great characters, believable situations and a HEA which comes as a relief after the tension. ( )
