The Free Press, New York, 1978. This is not as good a book as Posner's. I didn't like the venomous tone. The underlying economic arguments are not as clearly articulated. However, for some reason, this is the book that the conventional wisdom remembers about the Antitrust reforms of the 1970s. Incidentally, Bork sides with the government in the Microsoft antitrust trial, citing the Lorrain Journal case (a newspaper with 99% market share that refused to allow people to advertise in the paper who also advertised on a radio station in a nearby town; see p. 344--5). geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Shows how antitrust suits adversely affect the consumer by encouraging a costly form of protection for inefficient and uncompetitive small businesses. Bork sees antitrust law as a microcosm which reflects the larger movements of our society, such as the tension between liberty and equality. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
