John Hedgecoe, the world's best-selling author of practical photography books, presents the guide vacationers have been dreaming of: a comprehensive, easy-to-follow, abundantly illustrated and practical handbook on taking keepsake holiday pictures. Nothing challenges amateurs more than vacation photography. Faced with diverse subject matter-from portraits to landscapes--they've got one chance to get the picture right and preserve precious memories. With Hedgecoe's expert advice and novel techniques, vividly illustrated with 250 photos of popular vacation locales from mountaintop to seashore, they'll succeed. Drawing on an immense wealth of knowledge, Hedgecoe gives professional guidance on the minimum amount of equipment needed, how to deal with intense heat and cold, and how lighting conditions (including reflective, shimmering snowscapes) affect the image. There's information on camera care, creating a successful composition, getting all the angles on a site, and using snapshots to tell a story. With this innovative approach, anyone can create memorable images. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

By John Hedgecoe
I own several photography books by John Hedgecoe but this one caught me attention because I love to record my adventures when I travel.
The book is divided into four chapters: Packing your bags, Seeing the picture, Picture opportunities and On location. Even a seasoned photographer will pick up several helpful suggestions from this experienced professional.
Using, of course great pictures as tools to illustrate the correct way to hold a camera, different camera angles, which lenses to use in each situation, using diagonal patterns, how to capture the difficult shots…it goes on and on. Everything is in this book; pick it up and enjoy your next trip and the memories you will create by following his easy steps. ( )
