In my opinion this is a good book. One reason is because I like the way the book is organized. This book is about Kangaroo on his first day of school. During the book you see how Kangaroo adjust to the school and learns all the rules and how to act appropriately in school. For example, Kangaroo learned that when a teacher is talking you have to be quite. Kangaroo also learned that you have to wait your turn on the jungle gym at recess. Another reason I like this book is because of the illustrations. Each illustration goes perfectly with the text that is on the page. For example, one page talks about Kangaroo in the cafeteria and the illustration shows Kangaroo waiting in line with the other students to get his lunch from the lunch ladies. I also like the page when it shares that Kangaroo’s favorite game is jump rope and it shows Kangaroo jump roping with the other kids.
The big idea of this book was if you want to succeed in school and be safe you have to follow all the rules. This book is considered a fantasy because Kangaroos can’t really go to school. ( )
