I really wanted to see what happened after book one ended on a cliffhanger but this book just didn't do it for me. They tried to explain the time travel and it made absolutely no sense to me. There were a couple of other things in regards to the crime he was trying to solve that also didn't make sense, especially when we find out who committed the crime. The writing was again not amazing. With the first book I could overlook it because the concept of the book was so interesting but this time I was having a hard time getting past it. I don't think I'll continue with this series. ( )

Disclaimer: Susan May Warren and David Curtis Warren are my sister-in-law and nephew. All opinions are my own.

Rembrandt rocked his world when he traveled back in time in Cast the First Stone. There's just as much action as in the first book, and it's interesting to see how other people's personalities change because of Rem's actions. I just hope he loses some of his arrogance in future books.

Buckle Up! If you knew that, by changing the past, you could save lives, would you do it? "Of course", you say, but wait! Would this action mean that your present can no longer be the same? Heavy questions, and this is the hero's dilemma in this second installment of The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone. No Unturned Stone is another thrilling ride through time, with lots of twists and turns, and I found myself often going back to check what I'd just read. Detective Rembrandt Stone still has the special watch that allows him to time-travel, and his life is still in limbo. He's married, he's not...he has a daughter, or does he? So many questions, so many possibilities! What does it all mean?

Our mistakes, our tragedies, our suffering makes us better, stronger, more compassionate people. And those are lessons we learn by going through the pain, not around it.

The first book, Cast the Frist Stone, ended with a cliff-hanger, and No Unturned Stone is no different. Authors Susan May Warren, James Rubert, and David Curtis Warren have combined their writing talents under the pen name David James Warren, and they've outdone themselves once again! This time-travel mystery is both entertaining and thought-provoking, and I was engrossed from the very beginning, I'm anxiously waiting to see if Rembrandt Stone continues to keep this amazing watch in the next book, Sticks and Stone!

I received a copy of this book but there was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts. ( )

Rembrandt Stone is back, and after solving a cold case from his past, his future is not at all how he left it.

No Unturned Stone starts with giving readers more information about Rembrandt’s altered present-day life, which gives us a better understanding to his drive when he’s once again whisked to the scene of the crime of another past cold case.

While Rembrandt comes across as brash and frank, but he’s also charming, honest, and determined to uncover and expose injustices.

David James Warren (aka the talented Susan May Warren, James Rubart, and David Warren) brings readers on a journey of discovery, intensity, emotions, and questions of how our decisions affect our futures. And of course, they leave you wanting more. ( )

“It’s a fear that stalks every man, at least the ones like me, middle aged, married, a father of one, trying to frame his life into something that resembles success. A fear that, despite his heroic attempts, and as much as he tries to live in the light, his mistakes will find him.”

I had thought that the first book in the series left my heart and mind reeling.....but this book totally tops the first one. Wow. And to think that there are four more books in the series!!

David Warren, James Rubart, and Susan May Warren have indeed created a masterpiece in this series. Rem is an incredibly likable hero - broken and haunted by his regrets and past cold cases, driven by sense of justice and need to make things right, slightly defiant and reckless even though he’s warned by several others to leave the past alone and just work out the cold cases. His first person voice, both in the past and present, is oftentimes funny, many times reflective and probing, and always layered with his love and devotion to his wife and daughter. His wife Eve has a third person voice in 1997 and she helps the reader understand their complicated relationship.

In this second mind-bending, adrenaline-infused adventure, Rem returns to 1997 to solve the very first suspected case of Jackson murders which has the current day Minneapolis in shock and fear. Yet he can’t help trying to prevent the shooting that kills Eve’s father and brother while he’s in 1997. And he’s trying to figure out how to get back to the life that he had before the time travel watch overtook his life. Oh, the heartaches and headaches Rem faces are so gripping and raw....and it looks like he has more of them coming his way in the next book.

It’s a must-read speculative crime thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat and will make you wish the next book was released yesterday so you can read it right away. I received the book from the publisher and via JustRead Publicity Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own. ( )
