The only reason I gave this book four (technically 4.5) stars is because the switching between the present and flashbacks was confusing at times. But I did love the fact that it all built up to align at the end. Throughout the book, I was literally fighting a war in my head. I didn't know whether I liked Mina with Shay or Keenan better, but at the end, when Shay forced her to stay with him, I immediately decided I was on Keenan's team. I also hate the fact that the adults at the club find it normal for a step-brother to behave this way... I cannot wait until the second book comes out; this duology deserves a place on everyone's bookshelf! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

There is a lot to unpack with this story. The writing style and back and forth between the present and past tense were a little jarring at times. I'm trying to make sense of the story but I'll be honest, I'm a little confused. I'm not sure who can be trusted and who can't. (
