The writing was pretty good, especially considering it's a debut and despite the lack of punctuation marks. (Hello, authors, you are not all Cormac McCarthy, so please help a tired reader out and use proper punctuation, please.) But the story itself seemed tired. A drunkard detective who's lost his family, a weirdo villain who's clearly guilty, a small-town good-ol'-boy sheriff, with geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
"Local outcast Rigby Sellers lives in squalor on a dilapidated houseboat moored on the Mississippi River. With only stolen manikins and the river to keep him company, Rigby begins to spiral from the bizarre to the threatening. As a year of drought gives way to a season of squalls, a girl is found trembling on the side of the road, claiming her boyfriend was murdered. The nearby town of Oscar turns their suspicions toward Sellers.
