I've experienced the best and worst of humanity. I've been detained and beaten, and welcomed and respected. What strikes me is Hassan's courage and persistence. He failed so many times to get to the UK (using so many different ways) but he remained undaunted and continued trying. We know he succeeded but many of us probably still felt happy for him when he finally got to UK immigration. A lesson for us all to persevere when facing difficulties. ( )
