My major problem with them is that if intimate moments are stolen from the couple for appearances, there's just no way they reach the breathless levels of many traditional romance stories. I prefer many others to this particular story, but it's very much not my preference of a plot device. Coupling that with how devoid of any tension this feels at 65% generally, and I'm pretty bored. Which ones work? I have a list, but this is only based on my crappy shelves. Note, CR very few scores above 3. And they are still more readable than this. Do you all have a favorite?? Boyfriend Material(5) If I Never Met You (5) A Summer to Remember (4) Hard Fall (3) Blind Side(3) The Boyfriend Candidate (4) A rom-com set in Canada! YESSSSS. Thank you for writing this! Finally, a book is set somewhere in Canada besides Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver, and it’s a small town. Canada is full of amazing small towns, especially along our coasts and they are the perfect setting for a romance novel. The different characters in Queen’s Cove were amazing, so perfectly weird, and friendly just like real life and I am desperate to hear Hannah’s story and any others that come out of Queen’s Cove. I loved how both MCs had huge ambition and strong personalities and didn’t diminish either to be together. Each page had a new twist and turn and the level of jabs they landed on each other was next level. THE TURTLES!!!! They were the gift that kept on giving, you should read this for the turtle storyline alone it was hilarious. I laughed and cried while reading this one and there was spice! A truly laugh-out-loud rom-com is hard to find and this one brings that plus a lot of emotion. Stephanie Archer is officially on my auto-buy list and not just because she is Canadian (although that makes her much cooler), but because I know I will finish her books happier. I don’t want to spoil a thing because everyone should read this, a new favourite for feel-good romcoms with fake dating and a mayoral race what could go wrong? p.s. Stephanie, I will happily take all Queen’s Cove books immediately as repayment for scaring the heck of me at the end I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

"Avery Adams has big dreams of owning the restaurant she manages. It's finally up for sale, but she's short on cash and credit. Cocky and charismatic Emmett Rhodes isn't the relationship kind of guy, but now that he's running for mayor of their small coastal town, his bachelor past is hurting the campaign. The solution? Avery, the last woman who would ever fall for him. They make a deal: she'll get the restaurant if she plays his devoted fianc.? Strategic dates, a prom night re-do, secret beaches in a Canadian surf town, and a turtle phobia -- things heat up and the line between ruse and real blurs. They can't keep their hands off each other, but it's all for show... right?"--Publisher's information. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

The MCs were annoying.
