I bought this compendium of all the "Just Imagine" books by Stan Lee. The premise is just imagine if Stan Lee had created the DC superheroes. I eagerly awaited its arrival and was pleased to see it was a very large tome. Quite frankly I'd have been better off keeping my money in my pocket. It is absolutely dire. Batman is passable at a push, but Superman is a joke, Flash, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern are just boring, whilst Robin is nonsense and the least said about Shazam the better. The only character that I actually didn't mind was Sandman. The villain which appears in every book is Damian Darkk, an inconsequential villain that proves to be only the side villain. The real Villain, Crisis is someone that anyone of the actual DC superheroes could take down on their own. I don't mind Marvel characters, but they pale next to DC characters (I am talking about in the comics, not films) and it's plain to see why. The standard from Stan in these books is dreadful. ( )
