Another sweet adventure for Scaredy Squirrel and friends. A lovely story of dealing with uncertainty and anxiety under the guise of a funny, comic-style romp. My kiddo was very motivated to read it- especially since it's almost 80 pages long and has dedicated chapters so it feels, according to my 7 year old, like a "real" book (as opposed to shorter, readers) but is a quick read. I also appreciated some of the non-fiction features (checklists, labels) that are so easily accessible for kids. There are also so many opportunities to pause for those 'what do you think will happen next?'. Great for ages 6-9! ( )

Melanie Watt and Scaredy Squirrel are back again with another delightful story about getting over a scary situation with humour and the help of some new friends. Scaredy Squirrel's transition from picture books into graphic novels feels like a natural progression, as his lists diagrams, and colourful graphic elements have always been such an important part of his stories. A few new faces and a longer storyline than in the picture book collection make for an engaging book two in the graphic series. ( )

Another excellent addition to the Scaredy Squirrel series. This is the perfect book series for children who are anxious. Learning to be prepared (within reason) but also to take chances. Very good book. Teaches kids how to take risks and enjoy theirselves. It also teaches a little about what's real safety and what's overboard in a humorous way.

I really enjoy the Scaredy Squirrel series and this is a great addition. Scaredy Squirrel is such a lively fun character who articulates all of hi thoughts and anxieties that he really helps kids to understand his feelings and worries and, therefore, their own. Also, as he tries all sorts of plans and schemes, he helps kids learn to strategize and plan for themselves. It is a great course in problem-solving. I also like the format of this book. As a cross between a chapter book and a graphic novellette, it is a great step up for beginning readers who are branching out of picture books into longer formats.

Melanie Watt does not disappoint with her second Scaredy’s Nutty Adventure offering. Scaredy Squirrel’s imagination runs wild when a surprise delivery of a crate arrives. This loveable frantic character believes the crate must be containing something undesirable. But, as usual, Scaredy is mistaken. As the adventure continues, Scaredy takes a small step to make a concession to be a bit more flexible in order not to alienate patient and accommodating friends. A little life lesson is given to the readers: true friendship cannot just be one-sided. ( )

I just received this book in the mail from the early reviewers batch! I must say I'm absolutely in love with scaredy squirrel and so do my kids. His constant anxiety reminds me alot of myself.

It's very funny and the kids absolutely loved that. I love how scaredy squirrels friends were right by his side trying to help him and in the end it all worked out. Grandma and grampa squirrel saved the day and they had so much fun in the end!

I find alot of graphic novels can get confusing and all over the place but this one was straight forward and easy to follow! Great job Melanie! I would 10/10 recommend this book!
