Whether you garden with the intent of feeding your family or love to purchase fresh produce at local farm stores or markets, the Amish Friends 4 Seasons Cookbook will be an invaluable resource for your kitchen. I love how this cookbook is divided by seasons, allowing the chef in his/her kitchen to bring the freshest of dishes to the family table. Summer is in full swing and there is plenty of zucchini here in the sunny South. I chose to use some of the abundance to make Zucchini Chocolate Coffee Cake. This very chocolate-y cake turned out super moist, and the slight hint of coffee in the frosting gave it just the right note to balance the sweetness. There are plenty of other zucchini recipes plus hundreds more featuring seasonal garden vegetables for appetizers, side dishes, main courses, and desserts. There are also recipes for preserving your garden bounty for future meals. I’m looking forward to exploring all the seasonal goodies in this well-organized and easy to use cookbook.

Mmmm! This book has some wonderful recipes for each season of the year, using the harvest that is available. There are 290 recipes with very tempting pictures to give you a wonderful idea of what these recipes look and taste like. They are nicely organized by seasons with photos of Amish homes and some cute Amish sayings from some of Wanda's Amish friends. Each recipe tells the name of the recipe contributor and where she lives. Makes it nice and personal.
I can't wait to try these recipes. They look amazing. I even saw a couple of ingredients that I wasn't familiar with so looked them up on the internet. So I learned about some new things, as well.

I think this is a great addition to Wanda's cookbooks. And I am delighted and excited to try out some new and very tasty looking foods.

I received a complimentary copy of this cookbook from Barbour Publishing and was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts are my own. ( )

Great book.
I love the format of this cookbook. It is spiral bound and has a lot of colorful pictures of the recipes. It is organized by seasons both by what is available by seasons and what tastes good by seasons.
Other great features are scripture passages sprinkled throughout and cooking and household tips.
The recipes are often short with readily available ingredients. There is a wide variety of recipes from breakfast through dessert.
“Any housewife, no matter how large her family, can always get some time alone by doing the dishes.” Martha Miller, Decatur, IN
There is something for everyone!
This is definitely a book that I will use frequently.
