Zorian Kazinski is woken up by his sister, argues with his mother and takes the train to school for his third year. The first month is perfectly normal until the summer solstice approaches and he dies. Only to wake up on the first morning before the train. Again. And again. And again.

Zorian had largely gotten the hang on the time loop but the discovery of a third time traveller and the disappearance of his allies has left him floundering. Unsure if he's been discovered, Zorian tries to keep a low profile and learn as much as he can while trying to form new plans to save the world.

Like the first book this is action packed. Zorian has plans and projects and is constantly busy trying to improve his knowledge and I loved it. I was disappointed that Novelty is gone and the aranea don't seem to be coming back. but I loved the new characters that were brought onboard and the new discoveries Zorian made. Xvim and Alanic were awesome and it was hilarious how Zorian manages to pick hardass teachers without fail. I didn't love Zach to begin with but he grew on me as the book progressed.

Like the first book, this one ends on a cliffhanger. I'd be annoyed if the books weren't already published but it's a logical break that's wrapped up all the current mysteries before pushing on with the next. That said, I liked time travel better. The idea of a copy of the world just fucks with my mind.

An epic progression fantasy with incredible world building and creative detail. 5 stars. ( )

As I mentioned in my review for the first of this series I just got caught up in the story and couldn't bring myself to go to bed.

We're continuing with Zorian's POV in main and it his situation reminds me of when I sat in on a author talk years ago and a comment was made about how things just kept getting worse in his series. His response, "but isn't it exciting". It really, truly is.

Zorian has some ideas of what's going on at this stage but he keeps running into obstacles (which I actually love) He thinks he knows what's going on and discovers that's not the case. *I* think I know what's going on. Nope.

Yes, I kind of love this series and think it will make it into my rereads ( )
