An initial impression

A nice overview of the entire system.

I blipped over the first 4 chapters which cover user space tools for package, build, documentation and editting respectively. A nice selection of tools and probably worth a read. I suspect there might be some gems hidden in here.

Chapters 5 through 9 covers how your code interacts with the system. It covers a lot. Comprehensive in breadth but not in depth; It doesn't include full API documentation (thank goodness) but sufficient context to actually be able to use such documentation effectively. I've read many such overviews that I know to be wrong but this book seems spot on, which makes me far more encouraged about the other material that I am not familiar with.

Chapter 10 covers debugging. I am seriously deficient here and can offer no opinion. I shall read this section assiduously. ( )
