It was the kings birthday and all Humpty Dumpty wanted to do was 'see' the birthday parade as it went by, so he climbed onto the wall , but then he fell off and was in pieces. And in the end it was the king who put him back together again. PERSONAL REACTION-This book was not the one I read to my children as they were growing up. The book I read was more of a nursery rhyme book. This book actually had a story line to it. EXTENSION IDEAS- Can use this as a life lesson on helping others. And also as a lesson in behavior and how to treat everyone and there feelings nicely. Summary: Humpty Dumpty is a traditional children's story and song that they all know and love. Humpty Dumpty is a little boy that is an egg he wants to go to see the king in the parade. He begs his mom to let him go but she doesn't want him to crack his shell finally she gives in. The king is a little boy but he doesn't want to be in the parade. The king wants to do his puzzles but his mother makes him go. Humpy was excited at the parade to see the king so he climb up a pole then a brick wall. Once he climbed on the brick wall he was waving to the king and he fell off the wall onto the kings carriage and cracked his shell. They said there was nothing they could do for him. The king is good at puzzles so he put humpy back together again. Personal reaction: This story is a classic I love reading this story and signing songs to my students . Classroom activities: 1. I will have printed all the pieces to humpy and have them try and put it together. 2. I will have them decorate their own humpy on a paper plate. Humpty Dumpty is told in rhyming of words. This book begins by Humpty Dumpty's mom telling himhe can go to the king's parade but be very careful. The King who does not want to go to his own parade, and does not want to meet anybody ends up having a horrible day. Humpty gets brave and climbs on a pole to get a better view of the parade. Humpty then falls and cracks, the king puts humpty together again. This book introduces children to meet friends and try your best. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
