This is a typical romance - boy meets girl, both have past baggage that keeps them apart, problems are resolved and they live happily ever after. That said, if you enjoy romance novels, this is one step above because of the characters.
Kelly is a sweet girl who is in over her head after taking custody of her best friends two children but she tries to make a good life for the kids. She moves to a new town to renovate a wreck of a drive in theater. Her new neighbor makes a really bad first impression. He has past baggage because his child died and his wife left and he doesn't want to forgive himself. Kelly and the two kids start to thaw his gruff exterior and he begins to realize that he's missing a lot and needs to be nicer to his new neighbors. Then we have Mae Belle, the owner of the drive in theater who is in a nursing home. She always has a positive attitude and helps keep Kelly from giving up. Mae Belle is my favorite character in the book - she always found the best in people and situations and looked forward to drive in theater being renovated.

If you enjoy a light fluffy romance, this is a perfect book! It's a sweet story with very likeable characters and a happily ever after ending! ( )

Have a tissue handy on the day it will take to read this family-friendly contemporary small-town second-chance romance involving a neglected drive-in movie theater, but do NOT read in public as chortles and guffaws will ensue. I thoroughly enjoyed my ARC from Between the Chapters and this is my voluntary review. ( )
