A lovely little book that mixes counting with a jaunty rhyme scheme. This is another book I always have on my classroom shelf because my students find it both hilariously entertaining, and a helpful way to remember their number sense. I love to bring this book out at the point in the school year where we are learning about counting, and I have to say that this book really helps. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
In this counting book, increasingly larger groups of animals try to help a duck that is stuck in the sleepy, slimy marsh. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

The end of a book has a "haha guess what" moment at the end. You see the duck flying off into the distance, but guess who is now stuck in the DEEP, GREEN MARSH!? ...THE MOOSE!
Phyllis Root used alliteration in this book. (EX: creaky & croaky, slippy & sloppy, messy & mossy). This can be a great thing to point out to kids.
Also, rhyming is used throughout this book. The name of the animals rhymes with what they are doing. (EX: moose & spruce, snakes & wakes, snail & trails).
This book is can also be a counting seek-and-find (for kids) meaning when they flip to each page, they can count each animal and can match it to the number written on the left side of the page. ( )
