The Man who didn’t Wash His Dishes was such a silly book. It is about a man who doesn’t want to do his dishes so he keeps putting it off. Eventually they grow so much that he has no dishes left and is forced to eat out the soap dish, some flowerpots, even ashtrays! Then it rains and he decides to put all the dishes in his truck and drive around until everything is clean! This book would be good for a rainy day. ( )

This is a story about a man who was too tired to wash his dishes one night, and the next, until he used up all his dishes, all his clean flower pots, all his ashtrays (!), and even his soap dish. How he solves his problem amuses children; it's not a bit didactic. But children don't miss the lesson, and it's as much for mommies as children. Wonderful.
