Born in Barbados, West Indies, Neville was the fourth son in a family of nine boys and one girl. At age seventeen, he came to the United States to study drama. In 1932 he gave up the theater entirely to devote his attention to his studies in mysticism. He began his lecture career in New York City, and travelled throughout the country, eventually establishing his home in Los Angeles. In the late 1950's he gave a series of talks on television, and for many years he lectured regularly, to capacity audiences, at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles. His ten books, written over a period of some thirty years, deal with creative visualization and transformation of consciousness.
